Recently I was recommended by my previous client to her hairdresser who is a finalist for the Watts hair Competition in London. 'Nicola' showed me her small sketch and described her ideas. This a drawing I drew again on a A3 paper.
The top and side panels are made with white drill fabric
I added boning inside the hem of the sleeves to make it more exaggerated
The shorts are Lycra knickers with cotton tube mesh attached
These are my college work put on display in the church square exhibition which opened at 4-9. It will be on display till the 28th of June. I chose to display a basket with a hand crafted wolf mask for prop. All work include three of my Victorian millinery hats, CC41 tailored jacket and my chosen personal project of Red Riding Hood costume that I adapted to my liking but inspired by the series Once Upon a Time.

These are Spiderwick Chronicle fairy sketches that look similar to the leaf men.
To give me a better idea and overall view to construct the dress I looked at Autumn/Winter 2010- 2011 Christian Dior couture collection for inspiration.
I enjoyed watching Epic the movie produced by Jerry Davis today. It inspired me to make my very own project. I absolutely loved Queens Tara's dress that it inspired me to construct it for myself.
I decided to challenge myself to construct a Victorian Pawnbroker Costume.
The costumes were discussed as a group to create a collection of Victorian characters of the era to be worn at Preston Park Museum 'The Street' in Stockton on Tees..
This hat was inspired by the BBC drama series 'The Paradise'. I tweaked it a little bit by changing under the brim with a pleat and the embellishment of the rose in front.
This is a 19th Century Purple Velvet Bonnet I created. It is gathered under the brim and lined with lilac satin fabric. Velvet ruffles lined and sewn at the back. Fastened with a purple stain ribbon.
I have constructing the skirt pattern for red riding hood costume. I did this by creating the box pleat draft then adding a flare towards the bottom of the skirt. I only made half of the skirt for the tiole to see how it looks on the mannequin. I am very pleased with the results.
For my last project of the year I want to create a red riding hood costume created by Eduardo Castrofrom series 'Once Upon a Time'... but which one. There are 2 types of cloaks and 3 shapes and designs of corsets.
I really love the velvety or demask style cloak. I just want to be simple and quick to construct and so I can wear afterwards.
